Thoughts on Comic-Con Trailers
Comic-Con has come and gone, and lots of new trailers for upcoming movies have been released there, and I am here today to talk about some of them.
Justice League- Am I the only person that saw the first teaser trailer for this movie? Was it leaked or something? Is that why this has gotten so much hype? I'm glad J.K. Simmons is in Justice League because it will probably draw more of an audience to it, even though it's probably going to make a lot of money at the box office. And the villain is Steppenwolf? I hardly even knew he existed! And if that was a Jurassic Park reference that I saw, then good job, DC.
The Lego Ninjago Movie- The first two Lego movies were good, but I'm not so sure about this one. With the first Lego movie, it was kind of a fresh breath of air because nothing like it had even really ben made before. With the Batman movie, adults could relate to it as well. But it seems like the only people that know about Ninjago are middle schoolers like me who have outgrown that sort of thing. So I have very low hopes for this one.
Pacific Rim: Uprising- I saw the first Pacific Rim movie recently, and really liked it. And so that makes me even sadder to say that I don't think this looks that good. John Boyega is a talented actor, but it looks like this is going to try and go with a more "rap music" version of Pacific Rim. If you understand what I'm trying to say, then great (2014's TMNT movie is a "rap music" version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Also, why are the Jaegers so small now?
Ready Player One- I haven't read the book, but I've heard it's full of pop culture references. And it looks like this movie is going to be, too. If the Iron Giant and Freddy Krueger are in the same movie, it's going to be good. It looks like this is going to be a mixture of Tron and Star Wars and Transformers and like, everything. Now I'm excited for this. Plus it's directed by Steven Spielberg.
